Day 13 - Qaqortoq 5 September

An overcast day greeted us this morning. We had an early arrival - 7am - and we were pretty much settled at our mooring by 6.30am. The tenders were soon out and ready to take passengers ashore.

All rugged up - it looked very windy - we headed out around 9am. There was little to offer visitors, but it was very interesting walking around looking at this colourful town built into the hill of this sheltered cove.

As the day progressed the weather improved, but it was all too late to recover cancelled arrangements to take a trip on the fjord and visit the ice cap. The sun was doing its best to come out and as the clouds cleared the peaks in the distance, the snow glistened on the top peaks.

Having been buffeted about so much by the strong wind all morning, we spent the remainder of the day on the ship. We have a late departure, but we expect the captain will leave early if all are on board beforehand.

Just behind Ian is a sculpture. Lots of them around town carved into the rocks
