Day 24 - Glacier NP 16 September

Rain - very welcome rain - the fires desperately need it! Not so good for us, but we ventured out undaunted. The day improved and we had lots of fun. The upside was we saw some wildlife. Three wolves - one of which very kindly stayed on the road so I could capture it. A family of chuckers - quail-like birds which when we approached obviously had a death wish as they ran into our path! Then a cute little squirrel skittered around on the ground looking for just the right nut to munch on up in the tree so we could photograph it. The car got muddied up with the dirt roads. But we had fun. Did I say we had fun? Well we did! Despite a hike in the rain along the shore of Bowman Lake.

Just as we started off on our hike, the heavens opened

Ian playing tour guide with his 'follow me' umbrella in the air!

We took another trail on our return but it was obviously not well used as it seemed to peter out

I fell in love with the quivering aspen trees
